Trillium Birth Services is a solo midwifery practice headed by Stacia Proefrock. I offer midwifery services to southeast and south-central Michigan. Services include homebirth, labor support for those planning hospital birth, well-woman care, pre-conception counseling and fertility services, and classes for aspiring and practicing midwives.
As a homebirth midwife, I believe strongly in birth as a normal, physiological process. I believe that birth works best when it is as undisturbed as possible, with a strong respect not only for the experience of the mother and her partner but for the baby as well. About 80% of the women we work with give birth in the water and I offer free waterbirth tub rental for our clients. I am passionate about VBAC and also believe in increasing options for women who have twin pregnancies or babies in the breech position. Compassionate labor support is one of our strengths. All of the women who work with me are skilled and experienced in labor support and we try hard to provide good support while also respecting the family's wishes for privacy and quiet.
